Terms of Service
Last updated 24 September 2026
The short version. SupplyGuard watches public company registers and flags warning signs about your suppliers. A signal is a prompt to ask a question, not a verdict that a company is failing, and it isn't credit, financial or legal advice. SupplyGuard is for business use. You can cancel with 30 days' notice, and we don't refund periods you've already paid for.
The full terms below are what apply. If anything here is unclear, email hello@supplyguard.online.
1. Who we are
SupplyGuard (supplyguard.online) is run by Lee McCaffrey and Shelley Newton, trading as SupplyGuard. SupplyGuard is not currently a registered limited company. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Lee McCaffrey and Shelley Newton trading as SupplyGuard, and "you" means the business, and the person, using SupplyGuard.
You can contact us at hello@supplyguard.online.
2. What SupplyGuard does
SupplyGuard monitors companies you choose to watch and flags signals that may indicate financial difficulty or other risk. It draws on official public sources, including Companies House and The Gazette for UK companies, the German commercial register, published accounts and insolvency announcements for German companies, the French national company register (INSEE Sirene) and official gazette of company notices (BODACC) for French companies, and the Companies Registration Office register for Irish companies. It includes a supplier watchlist, risk ratings, recommended actions, alerts and a weekly email digest, Deep DD reports for UK companies, exports, and a free public Supplier Health Check.
We may add, change or remove features over time. If we remove something that is a core part of a paid plan, we'll tell you first.
3. Business use only
SupplyGuard is a business-to-business service. By creating an account or subscribing, you confirm you are doing so for the purposes of your trade, business or profession, and not as a consumer. You must be at least 18.
4. Your account
- Give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. Each account is for the named user and must not be shared.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
5. Plans, prices and payment
Our plans, what each includes, and the number of suppliers each lets you monitor are shown on our website. You pay the price shown at checkout, monthly or annually in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. If we change the price of your plan, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies to you.
Some features may have reasonable usage limits, for example on Deep DD reports or German company lookups, which rely on paid third-party data. We apply these fairly and won't use them to take away what your plan includes.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@supplyguard.online from the address on your account and giving 30 days' notice. Your plan stays active until the end of the notice period, or the end of the billing period you have already paid for if that is later, and then it stops renewing.
We don't give refunds for any part of a billing period that has already been paid, whether monthly or annual. If we cancel your subscription for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the unused part of any period you've paid for.
7. Founding members
A limited number of founding member places give free access to the Command plan. A founding member place:
- lasts for as long as we offer the Command plan, and if the Command plan is replaced, moves to its nearest equivalent;
- is personal to the business it was given to, and can't be sold or transferred;
- is subject to these terms like any other account, and can be ended if they are seriously or repeatedly broken.
8. What our signals mean, and what they don't
This is the most important part of these terms.
- Signals are automated. Risk ratings, signals, recommended actions and reports are produced automatically from public records by our own scoring rules. No person reviews each one.
- Public records can be wrong, late or incomplete. We rely on sources we don't control. Filings can be delayed, recorded in error, or later corrected. We can't guarantee any information is complete, accurate or up to date.
- A signal is not a verdict. A "critical", "flagged" or "high risk" rating means something on the public record is worth looking into. It does not mean that a company is insolvent, will fail, or is untrustworthy. A "healthy" or "clear" rating does not mean a company is safe.
- It isn't advice. SupplyGuard is not a credit reference agency, and nothing it shows is credit, financial, legal or investment advice. You are responsible for your own decisions about suppliers, and should make your own checks and take professional advice where it matters.
Public Supplier Health Check pages summarise public records about named companies. If you believe a page about your company is inaccurate, email us and we'll review it promptly.
9. Using SupplyGuard fairly
You may use SupplyGuard and anything you export from it for your own internal business purposes. You must not:
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download data from SupplyGuard, or use automated tools to access it other than through features we provide;
- resell, republish or redistribute our reports, ratings or data, or use them to build a competing product;
- copy, reverse-engineer or try to work out our scoring methods or source code;
- use SupplyGuard to make decisions about individuals, such as their credit, employment or housing, or to harass anyone;
- try to get around plan limits, security or usage limits, or interfere with the service.
10. Data from public sources
UK company information comes from Companies House and The Gazette. It contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. German company information is supplied through OpenRegister. French company information comes from INSEE (Sirene) and BODACC, published under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence 2.0. Irish company information contains Irish Public Sector Data licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, from the Companies Registration Office. These sources are not responsible for SupplyGuard or for how their data is presented or scored.
11. Availability
We work to keep SupplyGuard available and checks running on schedule, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Checks depend on third-party services, such as Companies House, The Gazette and OpenRegister, which can be slow or unavailable. We may occasionally need to pause the service for maintenance.
12. Ownership
We own SupplyGuard, including its software, design, scoring and reports. You own the information you put into it, such as your supplier list and notes, and you give us permission to use that information only to provide SupplyGuard to you.
13. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Otherwise:
- we are not liable for decisions you make, or don't make, based on SupplyGuard, or for any loss caused by a supplier's failure, delay or conduct;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability to you for anything arising from SupplyGuard in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. For founding members and free users, it is limited to £100.
14. Suspending or ending your account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, fails to pay, or puts the service or other users at risk. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a new date, and for significant changes we'll email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it applies.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
